Interior Designer (Libraries)

Closing Date: 4th March 2022

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Are you a Library Designer who would love to work with schools creating inspiring and engaging spaces for their pupils?

If so, why not join the Peters Library Design team.

Although the role is primarily that of a designer, this is a sales focused role. You will work with prospective customers across the UK, to design exciting and innovative classroom and library reading areas from the conceptual design phase, using the products featured in our Peters furniture range, through to producing the finished drawings using CAD software. 

You will have good commercial awareness, and the vision to anticipate and satisfy customer needs.

A formal relevant design qualification is required, and a minimum of one years’ experience of furniture/interior design.

The successful applicant will need:

  • To be a confident and commercially astute designer
  • To be competent with SketchUp, InDesign, Excel, and Word
  • Have excellent creative and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to engage and communicate with customers professionally at all levels
  • A proven ability to prioritise projects and tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • To be results driven, with strong customer focus
  • A high degree of self-motivation

Travel is an essential part of this role and the confidence to drive to various parts of the country is essential. The role will typically require travelling 2-3 days per week and you will be expected to work in our central Birmingham office a minimum of 1 day per week. A full, clean driving licence and DBS check is required.  A company pool car is provided for customer visits.
