Summary

After the death of their mother, Penny and David move with their father into an old family home in the middle of a forest, where they join forces with the magical Pog to prevent dark forces taking over the world.

After their mother dies, Penny and David move to her family's old house in the forest. Dad says it's a fresh start but it feels sad and empty without Mum. And there are noises in the attic.

A small furry creature is living in the roof. There are other creatures too - less friendly ones - that seem to be multiplying. Only with Pog's help can David and Penny save themselves - and goodness in the world. If they can resist promises from the darkness.

Book of the week

Familiar fantasy elements but told in a compelling, engrossing way, while also handling the theme of death and loss in a sensitive way. Good read, worth having
