Primary phonics books
We supply a wide range of phonics reading books to schools, including Big Cat phonics books, Bug Club, Little Wandle books and more.
As a result of the DfE changes to the teaching of phonics, many schools are still adjusting their EYFS and KS1 provision and we are here to help.
The government aim is:
- To give all children a solid base on which to build as they progress through school
- To help children develop the habit of reading both widely and often, for both pleasure and information
Validated systematic synthetic phonics programmes
As you will be aware, the 2007 Letters and Sounds Framework has been removed from the DfE’s list of validated phonics programmes, as it does not provide the comprehensive support required to deliver a successful phonics programme on its own.
For schools that have already successfully implemented a support programme for Letters and Sounds and have strong results to support this implementation, there is no requirement that they change their approach. However, every school must be able to show that they have a rigorous, systematic approach to phonics, that is being used with fidelity and achieving strong results for all pupils, including the most disadvantaged.
The DfE advises that the easiest way to achieve this is to use a full SSP (systematic synthetic phonics) programme from the validated list. (Any schools receiving support from an English Hub MUST choose a programme from this list.)

Phonics for pupils aged 7+
We also supply phonically decodable books for Key Stage 2 and beyond, to support readers who are yet to meet the expected standards at the end of Key Stage 1. Browse phonics books for 7+ here.
